Saint Petersburg is an excellent choice for students of Russia’s historical, sociological and cultural heritage. Residents are well-known for their ‘classical’ knowledge of spoken Russian and eager to help visitors in need of language practice. The city has the services, clubs, parks and palaces to rival any European capital with a substantially lower cost of living. You will never run out of things to do in Saint Petersburg, but if you are stuck for an idea we also organize cultural programmes for our students with healthy discounts.
Architectural gems like Pskov and Novgorod are easily reachable as day trips or by overnight train and bus.
Over the last twenty years, we have enabled students to speak good Russian in a short period of time and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Considering that there is such a significant demand for teachers around the world with TEFL job opportunities available in almost every country, TEFL therefore offers a combination of employment with a truly exceptional opportunity to experience other cultures and languages.
Why CTEFL in Saint Petersburg
As the cost of living is considerably lower in St Petersburg than in other major European cities, the Center is able to offer the course at a very competitive price. Savings made on items such as accommodation, food, drinks and entertainment over the 4-week term are additional benefits of attending the course in Saint Petersburg. Trainees studying in St Petersburg have the chance to experience not only the feeling of living and working abroad, but also get acquainted with Russian culture.
As the Center is housed at the Benedict School trainees have a good opportunity to see the way a language school operates, and to meet and talk with experienced teachers actually working in the industry. It is possible to find a job on the spot at the Benedict School, or to find a position in a country of your choice through Via Lingua contacts after the successful course completion.

"I completed my TEFL certification with Benedict School in May and June of 2016. Overall, I found it to be a very positive and useful experience. As a native speaker, I didnТt possess a very deep knowledge of the intricacies of English grammar before starting the course, much less how to actually explain them to students. However, by the end of the course, I felt confident in my ability to teach effectively and have been teaching professionally ever since finishing with my certification. TEFL is an intensive course that packs a considerable bounty of information into a four-week training session, but the instructors were all very knowledgeable and helpful, and there is plenty of practice in preparing for lessons and the act of teaching itself. I would recommend the TEFL course to anyone interested in exploring a career in English teaching."
